James Roy, who graduated from RCHS in 1992, attended the Million Man March in Washington, D C. on Monday.
“It was wonderful to be there,” he said, adding that there were definitely over a million people there, probably more like 1.5 million, despite television reports that there were 400,000 attending the march. People stretched from the steps of the Capitol, where the speakers were, to the Washington Monument, said Mr. Roy.
Mr. Roy said that he arrived by Metro in D.C. about 8:30 and stayed until 5 p.m. or so. It was a good thing that a lot of people stayed home from work so that traffic moved smoothly, he said.
