The four members of the Washington Town Council then present unanimously elected Louise Van Dort town treasurer. Present for the vote at the Town Council meeting last Wednesday were Mayor Stewart Willis and members Ray Gooch, Charlie Tompkins, and Peter Skowronski.
Members Steve Critzer and Reinhardt Lynch missed the vote as they came to the meeting just after it was taken. Mr. Tompkins made the motion to nominate Ms. Van Dort, and Mr. Skowronski seconded it. There were no further nominations. Mr. Gooch called for a recorded vote and all voted “aye.”
Ms. Van Dort was not present for the vote. She had gone from the meeting to her office to retrieve the survey of town streets prepared by John Baumgardner, which provided the only significant controversy in the meeting.
When she returned, Ms. Van Dort was sworn in by Circuit Court Clerk
