Cub Scout Pack 123 has more than doubled in size thanks to an excellent turnout at School Night held at Rappahannock County Elementary School.
The success of this event is, in part, due to the series of assemblies held earlier in the week in the school auditorium. Bill Haley and Ann Hall, representatives of the Shenandoah Area Council Boy Scouts of America, spoke to first through fifth graders about the fun and adventures awaiting them in Scouting. These assemblies clearly sparked the interest of many boys, who convinced their parents to bring them to School Night.
At School Night, newly registered scouts and their parents had an opportunity to meet the den leaders and some of the other boys in their dens. They also watched videotapes of 199495 scouting events which gave them a preview of the activities they will be taking part in in the coming months.
