REPUBLICANS FOR SUE SCHEER

THE TRUTH HURTS KATZEN

SO HE CHANGES THE FACTS

Jay Katzen's re-election campaign is re-writing history. His record has been rejected by the voters, so he has dreamed up a new record. But it’s too late.

He has broken his promises to school children, college students, senior citizens and those who want clean air and clean water.

He has voted against all the major concerns. He is running a campaign that tells you otherwise.

For instance, he supported $92 million in cuts to elementary and secondary education and to higher education. He voted to weaken environmental laws. He even supported cuts to "Meals on Wheels".

His most blatant vote was against sending 100% of lottery funds directly to local schools. He was only one of two—two!—to vote against that bill. Luckily, it passed 96 to 2 with Republicans and Democrats joining forces, despite Katzen's efforts.

SO WHAT DOES HE DO?

With a record like that, how do you convince the voters you really represent them? Katzen simply re-writes history. He falsifies his record and runs newspaper and radio ads as if we are not the wiser. A good example is an ad that claims he brought $5 million in new education money to the District. It simply isn't true!

WE HAVE AN ANSWER

Republicans for Sue Scheer was organized when Republicans in the 31st District decided they could no longer support Jay Katzen. That Katzen was not only outof-step with Virginians and this District, but out-of-step with his Party.

Fortunately, Sue Scheer offers a wonderful alternative. For 30 years she has worked tirelessly for us right at home in the 31st District. She served on the Fauquier Planning Commission, was president of the Fauquier Unit of the American Cancer Society, served on the board of the Fauquier Mental Health Association. She has been active in our schools and has a strong professional and legislative background. She also is vice president of the Cedar Run Rescue Squad Auxiliary. Most importantly, Sue Scheer brings integrity and sensitivity to the job.
