the building at public auction in 1968. “Maurice O’Bannon was a wonderful marketing man and he made the Emporium a success,” Miller said. They were partners for about four years and then Miller sold his share of the ownership of the Emporium to O’Bannon and leased him the building for 26 more years. The O’Bannons are locating The Emporium at the Parkway Gift Shop in Sperryville.
The building is still being leased from Clifford Miller, although the Woodards have obtained a lease with an option to buy at a prearranged price.
