He took one photography course in using a darkroom, but otherwise, Garon is selftaught, especially in using paint and pastels.
He learned by paying attention to the medium and experimentation, he said. “A lot of my paintings don’t start with preconceived ideas. I find it exhilarating to let a piece evolve,” Garon said. The physical beauty of the Piedmont inspire many of his works-he loves the Blue Ridge and the architectural quality of the landscapes.
The Morency Gallery sells fine art and contemporary crafts at 291 Main Street in Washington and 71 Main Street in Warrenton. Garon spends many days in Washington where he leaves the door open to shoppers if the weather permits.
