The Rappahannock County
Sheriff’s Office conducted its second annual “Shop With a Deputy” program, which assists less fortunate children in having an enjoyable Christmas. This year’s event was a tremendous success.
The sheriff’s office was able to shop for 30 children and provide their families with food baskets. In addition to those previously mentioned, the sheriff’s office distributed several food baskets to the elderly and other families that may have needed assistance during the holiday season.
As sheriff of Rappahannock County it was a heart warming feeling to observe the children and their families have a moment of laughter and joy. Just as heart warming, was the fact that none of this would have been possible without the many volunteers of our community. Forty citizens of our community participated, as well as 20 law enforcement officers from the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police.
