“I felt, after talking with him, that he was the man for the job. He has professionalism, is knowledgeable, leads well and I needed someone like that,” said Rappahannock Sheriff Gary Settle. He was speaking of Major Rick MacWelch.
MacWelch leaves the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office this week to become the new police chief of the Middleburg Police Department. His last day here with Rappahannock will be Jan. 15.
