William F. “Billy” Jones Sr., 68, of Hampton died on Friday, Jan. 9.
Bom in Woodville, Va., he moved to Hampton to attend Hampton Institute in 1946.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990 after 33 years of service and several awards and citations.
At the time of his death, he had been employed in Colonial Williamsburg for over 40 years.
He was the son of the late W. Howard and Gertrude Jackson Jones of Woodville. He was also predeceased by a brother, Howard M. Jones of Culpeper.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol Tucker Jones; his children, William Foley Jones Jr. and wife Marion of Brussels, Belgium, Wayne F. Jones and Walter F. “Duke” Jones, both of Newport
