There are three pictures of Eve. “Eve II”, (No. 7) is a striking combination of muted colors. Eve has dark red-orange hair with red and green skin tones. A blue-green, leafy band binds her hair. She is surrounded with leafy forms of green, lavender, blue and red. Her gaze is lowered or her eyes are closed and her left hand is resting on her chin. I saw two people catch their breaths looking at this picture.
On the opposite wall is “Harlequin” (No. 9), a large head mostly red or copper colored against a blank bluegreen background. The eyes are lowered or closed and the head is turned to its left. The right hand is placed on the left shoulder. A red harlequin hat with turned up, pointed side brims establishes the curvilinear theme of this image. Again, the features are simplified and an over-all smoothness with green high-lights makes a vivid impression.
