for the team. Chris Sause made some great saves and the defense had an incredible game — stopping Central’s offense. Central is a very physical team but pour guys were aggressive.”

The Panthers then played Brentsville at home May 5 and tied 1-1. The game was called at the half due to the weather but it was counted as a tie. “To tie Brentsville is very good — the guys did a good job,” Sander said. “I believe we could have won if we had gotten to play the whole game.”

They lost though to George Mason at home May 7, 2-1 but turned right around and beat Strasburg on May 8 7-0. Josh Waddell played goalie for the game which gave regular goalie Chris Sause a chance to get out on the field, Sander said.

The team will play Brentsville on Friday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at Brentsville to determine the position of the district teams for regionals. The winner of that game will go on to regionals.
