Upcoming Events

4-H Dog Show scheduled

There will be a 4-H Dog Show for enrolled 4-H members at The Child Care and Learning Center pavilion on U.S. 211 west of the town of Washington on Saturday, May 16 from 2 until 3:30 p.m. 4-H members must present the rabies vaccination upon arrival and dogs must be on a leash with a collar. Lisa Reid will conduct a workshop and after that there will be an informal dog show. 4-H members will receive participation ribbons. Call 675-3619 for additional information.

Benefit yard, bake sale set

Rappahannock County Band Boosters are having a yard sale and a bake sale on Saturday, May 16 at the Rappahannock County High School. Any items or donations will be greatly accepted. For additional information call John Wiese at 937-9909 or David Gillis at 987-8817.

Gateway community meeting set

The Gateway Committee Community meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 at the Sperryville fire hall. The meeting with guest speaker Ed McMahan should focus on a number of gateway communities which have already implemented successful initiatives that deal with growth in a manner that protects the character of a community, while stimulating a healthy growth plan, and a healthy economy, but also safeguarding natural and historic areas and resources.

Youth council meeting set

The Creative Community Youth Council and other interested teens will have a planning meeting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 17 at Mountainside Market to discuss future events. For more information call 987-7204, extension 2.

Choral concert scheduled

The Rappahannock County High School Chorus will present a patriotic Spring concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 at the high school. The choral boosters will provide refreshments. A silent auction to benefit the chorus will take place before and after the concert. Raffle tickets for a quilt will be available for $1 each.
