In addition to Merrill, Philip Strange and his family of runners will also be in this year’s race. Lowell Owsley of Jeffersonton, who has also not missed a race, will be back this year.
A number of top finishers from last year are returning. Mark Vann, who finished second, is the only overall winner currently entered in this year’s race.
Past winners from many age groups are returning for the men, Scott Harry and Malcom Sonnet, who placed second and third respectively in the 12 and under, are back along with Alexander Strange, who finished third in the 13-18 group.
No winners from the men’s 19-29 category have entered, but the older age groups have top competitors back. Stephen Schwartz and James Morsink placed second and third in the 30-34 age group. Jim Shaughnessy is the defending champion in the 35-39.
