Vice Mayor Critzer discussed the recent diagnosis of water system problems, noting that it was determined that one filter has failed. He said that a quotation of $12,000 was received for replacement of both filters, but that the amount can be reduced by more than half by replacing only .one of the filters. More definitive information will be received shortly, and a report will be made at the next meeting. Critzer also provided information on a generator recently purchased for $8,000 at auction, and to be used for water pump power back-up. In discussions on Y2K emergency funding at last night’s continuation session, Critzer described the town's Y2K contingency evaluation and the conclusion reached that back-up water pump power would be the critical element. This generator will support that contingency plan.
