Fauquier County is a place where children are by and large well taken care of, and the summer months are no exception. Programs available through Parks and Recreation, Fauquier County Child Care, the Boys and Girls Club and an informal organization in The Plains can help keep children happy and busy all summer.

Fauquier County Child Care will offer a camp program for fifth- to seventh-graders for the first time this year. Its established kindergarten through fourth grade camp will be held as well.
Children sign up by the week, beginning June 22 and continuing for eight weeks. The camps are held at Bradley, P.B. Smith and Grace Miller, but weekly field trips give the kids a change of scenery.
