Nellie Wharton Utz, 74, of Brightwood died Friday, April 16 at her residence.
She was born March 10, 1925 in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Ashby William Wharton and Lilly Pearl Corbin Wharton.
She was a member of the Madison Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Taylor Utz Jr; a daughter, Frances Lynn Utz; two sons, William Taylor “Hank” Utz and wife Linda and Raymond Franklin Utz, all of Brightwood.
Also surviving are four sisters, Lillian Wharton Ford of Front Royal, Jennie Mae Wharton Wood of Charlottesville, Lucy Wharton Compton of Castleton and Virginia Wharton Coppedge of Brightwood.
Funeral services were held April 18 at Madison Church of the Brethren with interment ih the church cemetery conducted by Rev. William E. Ponn Jr.
