• The Board discussed the school bus use policy in light of recent complaints regarding the administration’s denial of a request to use the buses to transport children to a private sports camp. The Board referred the issue to the Policy Subcommittee for study.
• The Board agreed to permit Trash Free Rappahannock to use two sedans on three Saturdays for the transportation of community service penance individuals to clean up sites.
• The Board moved to permit the Superintendent to sign a liability release that will enable the firm of Hayes, Large to provide athletic field construction documents to the county. The authorization is contingent upon Hayes, Large signing the release first.
• Superintendent Dr. Gangel reported that Trigon Health Insurance premium increases were reduced from 29.5 percent to 18.3 percent, but the increase will still have significant financial impact upon the School Board and employees who contribute for family member coverage.
