Live music will be featured each weekend at Cooter’s in * Hazzard Country, just west of Sperryville. On Saturday from ! 12 to 3 p.m. Cooter’s Garage Band will be performing and on I Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. the Page County Ramblers will be playing. All community residents are invited to attend.

U-18 softball tryouts

Sudden Impact 18U girls fast pitch softball team will be holding open tryouts for the 2000 summer and remaining 1999 fall seasons. Tryouts will be held at Fauquier High school varsity softball field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19. Sudden Impact plays a highly competitive schedule of college showcase and national qualifier tournaments. Fundraiser underway

The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Boosters are beginning their main fundraiser of the year.

For a donation of only $20 you could be eligible to win a grand prize of $1,000; a second place prize of $750 or a third place prize of $250. Prizes will be given away at the last boy’s basketball game in December. You do not need to be present to win. There will be only 200 tickets printed.

Proceeds benefit the athletes at the high school and the athletic department. Tickets are available from any RCHS coach, at any home'game or from any of the following Booster Club members: Nancy and Calvin Atkins, Monte and Lisa Clinedinst or Cheryl Taylor.

Cooking class offered

Hartland Wellness Center and Culpeper Seventh Day Adventist Church are co-sponsoring a cooking class at Culpeper Library on Monday, Sept. 27. The healthy eating for weight management class will cost $5 per person. Pre* register by calling 672-3100, extension 240.
