Sheriff Larry Sherertz and Captain Jeff Brown, the designated School Resource Officer (SRO) offered to answer questions regarding the memorandum of Understanding that the Sheriff’s office recently provided to School Board members. The memorandum is to serve as an agreement between the Sheriff’s office and the School Board regarding the duties and responsibilities of the SRO.

Sheriff Sherertz noted that Captain Brown had recently completed an SRO course at the Fairfax Police Academy, and he has served in County schools as the DARE coordinator for eight years. The Board later discussed the memorandum, and moved to accept it pending school building administration review.
