Jim Marangoni
Home: Castleton Occupation: Retired from the US Government in 1989 Accomplishments: Jim has been providing technical support for the Sheriff’s Office since 1991. Sheriff Larry Sherertz is quick to point out that Jim will come by at his own expense, donating his free time and computer expertise to the Sheriff’s Office. Jim recently installed new computers in the patrol and investigations divisions. Sherertz says that Jim “has gone out of his way to get involved,” and adds that the Sheriff’s Office probably couldn’t afford what he donates. Sherertz also commented “I don’t think our computer system could function without him.” Jim Marangoni also serves the county as Deputy Emergency Services Coordinator, and is a certified EMT. He helps out at the Loan Closet, and is a past President of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department. Jim is a member of Washington Baptist Church, where he is an inactive Deacon and serves on the Tape Ministry Committee. Jim and his wife Carol (Mrs. Jim) have two children. Their daughter, Cathy Lane, works at the County Jail. They also have a son in Winchester, who builds houses.
