Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, a.k.a. James Best will be visiting at Cooter’s in Hazzard Country, just west of Sperryville on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18 and 19 beginning at 11 a.m.
Don’t miss the live entertainment each weekend at Cooter’s. The Cooter’s Garage Band plays on Saturday and the Page County Ramblers perform on Sunday afternoons.
Belated birthday wishes go out to my niece, Donna Clark, who celebrated hers on Sept. 7.

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary vrill be holding their first Fireman’s Apple Festival on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the carnival grounds.
There will be fun for the entire family including an apple bobbing contest, a quilt contest, an apple pie contest, a pumpkin pie contest, crafts and lots of good food.
The Sperryville Auxiliary is seeking contestants to enter their handmade quilts and homemade apple and pumpkin pies. To enter your quilts or homemade pies call Charlotte Jenkins at 987-8683 before 7 p.m. Please no calls after 7 p.m.
