Updike is the son of Randall and Toni Updike of Washington. Scott will be a junior at Virginia Tech studying animal and poultry science and plans to obtain a PhD to perform research on cattle.
“We look forward to recognizing Scott and Todd as the VCA IVOMEC Scholarship winners at the Virgihia Cattlemen’s Association’s annual meeting, which will take place at the Homestead in Hot Springs, in February, 2000,” says President Maxey. “And, we wish these two young men the very best in their educational endeavors.”
Since its. introduction, the IVOMEC: Generations of Excellence program has provided more than $1 million dollars to help fund youthfocused in scholarship and leadership initiatives at the state level through organizations that support the cattle industry. Funding levels are based on state cattle producers’ purchases of IVOMEC Brand Products, which are manufactured by program sponsor Merial.
