Though Ms. Atkins has the authority to set the values as she sees fit, Mr. McCarthy noted that she has offered the Board of Supervisors the opportunity for input to the process. They had no objection, however, to the proposal by Mr. McCarthy, and those values will be used next year and through the next cycle.
State budget cuts
Mr. McCarthy informed the Board that State budget cuts will cost the County some $50,000 in revenue this fiscal year.
He added that some of that will not have to be made up (e.g. Library funds) but that revenue for constitutional offices—some $40,000—will have to be replaced.
