Local agencies have worked with the Virginia Tech Center for Survey Research over the past year to complete a survey of over a thousand local residents, age 60 and over, and the forum will provide an opportunity to share the results of the survey with interested persons from the community.
Pairing the survey results with information from the 2000 Census, it is clear that the number of older persons living in our communities is increasing rapidly, with dramatic growth projected over the next ten years.
