The Virginia State Fair was held Sept. 26 through Oct. 6 in Richmond. Three Rappahannock 4-Hers competed in the event.
David Massie competed in the Swine Show and received a second place in the 250 weight class, a third place in the 240 weight class and a third place in the 220 weight class. He received sixth place in Senior Showmanship.
Caroline Massie also competed in the Swine Show and received a second place in the 230 weight class and a sixth place in Novice Showmanship.
Ben Rupchis competed in the Virginia State Fair showing his goats. In the Youth Dairy Goat Show, Ben's results were: Bearly Rebellious Whimbrel — first place Dry Yearling, Grand Champion Jr. Alpine Bearly Storm-E Thunder — first place two-year old Milker, Grand Champion Sr. Alpine and Best in Show, M Skylines El Nino, first place four-year old Milker, Best Udder (Alpine) and Best Udder in Show Bearly Dairy Herd, Best Herd (Alpine) and Best Herd in Show.
