Charles and Mary Priest of Amissville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 21.
A reception was held in their honor Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Amissville Baptist Church.
The reception was hosted by daughter, Lisa and husband, Lewis Morrison; son, Robert and wife, Margacet Ann and grandchildren, Lauren Kimberly Morrison, Luke Priest Morrison, James Robert Priest and Mathew Mason Priest.
The couple exchanged vows on Sept. 21, 1952 in the Warrenton Baptist Church with Rev. Guy C. Heyl officiating.
Mrs. Priest is the daughter of Aubrey Settle and Dollie Hitt Settle Milbourne. Mr. Priest is the son of James Booten Priest and Susie Hitt Priest.
Mrs. Priest is a graduate of Warrenton High School. Mr. Priest graduated from Washington High School.
Shortly after graduation, Mr. Priest entered the U.S. Navy, where he served in Hospital Corp during World War II.
Mr. Priest retired from U.S. Government Service at Warrenton Training Center. Mrs. Priest, also a former employee of Warrenton Training Center joined the Postal Service in 1975. She retired as postmaster of Viewtown Post Office.
