Effective immediately, Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be open fewer hours each week due to budget reductions. All DMV customer service centers will be closed on Wednesdays, the least busy day of the week.
Saturdays and Mondays are traditionally DMV’s busiest days. In addition, most customers prefer to visit DMV in the mornings. The agency encourages customers to visit DMV well before the end of the month when driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations expire.
Many customers do not need to visit a DMV office for service. The agency's Web site at www.dmvnow.com offers 19 transactions, including driver’s ' license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers may also conduct routine transactions through an automated touch-tone telephone service or the U.S. mail.
