Arthritis, acupuncture at library
Sarah A. Steed. Licensed Acupuncturist of Washington will give a free informative talk on using acupuncture for arthritis and chronic joint pain at the Rappahannock Library on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. For additional information call 540-219-9494.

Garden Club to meet
The Rappahannock County Garden Club November meeting will be held on Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. The meetings are open to the public, but an RSVP to hostess Susan Jones (675-3152) would be appreciated.
The program this month, “Gardening from an Ecological Perspective." will be presented by Donna LaPrd. an organic gardener who lives in Rappahanock and frequently writes for the Rappahannock News.
Thrift shop now open
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary Thrift Shop is now open on Wednesday and Friday at their new location at the Washington Volunteer Fire Company Building. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The community is encouraged to stop to see the new facility.
Cemetery trip planned
A group will be going to the Charlie Bowen Cemetery in the Piney Run area of Shenandoah National Park on Nov. 9. Anyone wishing to join in should meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Faith Mountain parking area in Sperryville. The group will then drive up Old Hollow Road and park and walk the rest of the way.
Anyone going on the trip should dress according to prevailing weather conditions. Should it be snowing or raining the trip is canceled. Wear comfortable shoes and bring along a snack.
