The Rappahannock Hunt Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Muth in Woodville, Oct. 29 to open the 1960-61 hunt season.
Following the hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Muth, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Crowe and Miss Flora Lee Muth, as co-hosts, gave a hunt breakfast for the entire membership.
WRVA-Radio in Richmond is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. As part of this observance the station is saluting the many Virginia counties in its coverage area.
Tb be saluted on the special programs will be the various county officers and the Rappahannock News. Points of interest in the county and its many commercial and historical features will be emphasized.
A picture made of hundreds of dried flowers was created by Mrs. Charles H. Estes of Sperryville for the annual house tour and dried flower sale and was featured as a photo in this week’s issue.
Mrs. Estes spent about three weeks working on this masterpiece.
A total of 43 persons made the trip to Washington, D.C. on Nov. 5 to see “Ben-Hur”. Every person who went felt it was certainly a ‘ very worthwhile trip. Those volunteering their cars for the trip and aiding in transportation were Judge Rayner Snead, Ned Jones, • Miss Mary Miller Wood and Mrs. Pauline Bruce.
