Oh well. Since it also likes native trees, maybe that’s best. It still feels good to think that Ailanthus is not totally a rogue plant, thriving entirely outside the local food chain. Maybe one day the little Ailanthus Webworm Moth will evolve into a more voracious eater, and its yen for Ailanthus leaves will grow a hearty addiction to the Tree of Heaven.
