Dancing workshop, classes set

Charmaine Lee will be conducting a one-day workshop Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall. There will be live music with percussionist Steve Bloom, Roger Piantadosi and others. There will be an hour.and a half for lunch. The cost for the day is $85.

In addition to this workshop, the weekly dance class is currently underway and will continue for five weeks through Dec. 18. Note that there are no classes the second Wednesday of each month due to Town Hall meetings. Classes begin at 6 p.m. and the cost is $15 per class, or $60 for the series. Second Saturday hike series

There will be a hike to ‘The Peak” behind Washington, Va. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Those interested should meet at Mountainside Market, 987-9100 between 8 and 8:30 a.m. and caravan from there to the trailhead for the Jordan River Trail. Participants should bring layered clothing according to the weather of the day, and nourishment for themselves. Return time is usually mid-afternoon. Cutting-edge chiropractic care

On Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center will host Dr. Catherine Bourgeois and Dr. JoAnne Towne, who will offer a free one hour presentation and demonstration of how the body can learn to release physical, chemical and emotional stress on its own using Network Spinal Analysis.

Ser vices Board to meet

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at 15361 Bradford Road. Sculpture workshop set

A sculpture workshop, figure in clay, taught by Charles E. Flickinger will be held Nov. 8-10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oldway Art Center. The $250 fee includes model fee and materials. For additional information call 987-9500.

Open house at Wakefield

Wakefield School in The Plains will host an Open House for prospective students and their parents at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. Faculty members, students, alumni, parents. Headmaster Peter Quinn, and Director of Admissions Vicky Jann-Lewis will participate in an open forum, during which time they will provide an overview of the school and answer questions from guests.
