The Rappahannock Dynamite, U12 girls, sponsored by Ivy Cliff Farms, suffered a tough loss on Saturday against division leading Fluvanna.
The Dynamite’s were coming into today’s game with a five game winning streak and put a scare into Fluvanna with awesome first half play. A sweet combination play from Ella Miller to Marcella Wallace to Caroline Massie, who sank the shot, had us leading the game 1-0.
An unlucky penalty kick by Fluvanna allowed them to tie it up right before the end of the first half. The second half opened with two quick scores by Fluvanna. Both scores were identical.
Loose balls in front of the goal and a crowd of players with Rappahannock unable to clear it out quickly enough. That put Fluvanna up 3-1. But the Dynamite didn’t quit. They fought back the whole second half and had shots on goal but couldn’t convert. The game ended with the score 31.
