A question: What do microphones, bird baths, jazz, and gourmet food have in common?
The answer: They're all part of this fall’s Headwaters Mini-Grants to local teachers.
Last week twelve Rappahannock County Public School teachers received a total of $6,898 for innovative classroom projects. They will use the money to purchase supplies and implement projects that will enhance the educational experience for many of our county students.
At RCES, grants went to: Kimberley McKinney, books for a remediation library; Jimmy Swindler, software for a “Race to the Governor's House” history project; Joy Rollins, choir microphones for stage improvements; Harriet Rosenblatt, stage set construction supplies; Patty Hottinger, supplies for her “Feed the Birds” project in the special education Butterfly Garden; Gail O’Neal, lab kits for “Investigating Electricity”; and Vickie Miller, sets of letters for bulletin board design.
At RCHS, grants went to: Joy Sours, construction supplies for a photography dark room; David Naser, equipment for “Determination of Mass”; Lynne Fournier, guest conduc
