Greenfield, property of John and Lloyd Schaefer west of Washington. Workmen constructed the windmill in four days, completing the job Saturday. The Schaefers will use the device as an auxiliary water source from the 170 foot well. A windmill of this size costs about four thousand dollars installed.
The springs that supply the Town of Washington’s water have been revived by recent rainfall, according to Mayor Newbill Miller. There is now an ample supply for the town residents to resume normal use.
Pearl Brent Clarke and Estelle Brown left their homes in Amissville Sunday for a trip to Nigeria, Africa and will return home Nov. 22. They flew from Dulles International Airport at 6 p.m. and their first stop was to be in Paris, France. Mrs. Brown, 82, was hoping to go on a safari.
RCHS track team members Desiree Poehler, Kathy Jenkins, James Hackley, Ronnie Jenkins and Sheri Kritz were on hand Tuesday as Coach Ann Spieker accepted a donation of $200 presented by President Phil Butten on behalf of the Rappahannock Lions Club. The donation brought the total raised in the fund raising drive for clearing and grading a track at RCHS to approximately $6,000.
