The Lams’ application was much more compelling than Ms. Kuhn’s since it involved their family and had little effect On neighbors, while Ms. Kuhn’s purpose is to make money through a significant impact on her neighbors. As Roger Welch said at the Board of Supervisors’ meeting, the Board’s actions should reflect public interest and not private interest. Further, if we are to modify the ordinance for the private interests of an individual, why can’t any individual demand similar treatment?
Acceptance of this application is the first step in destroying the Zoning Ordinance which was so carefully crafted 16 years ago.
