The Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority took a field trip to the Sperryville Treatment Plant for their August meeting, to witness the (ahem) “fruits of their labor.” The WSA took a tour of the facility and followed the progress of wastewater as it travels into the treatment plant, passes through the stages of treatment, and is discharged into the Thornton River. The outing was an opportunity for the WSA's newest members, Mike Brown and Ruth Kiger, to familiarize themselves with the process, and for older members like Secretary Alex Sharp to refresh themselves on the flow of events at the treatment plant.
