Loudoun County Assessor's Office in Leesburg, Virginia is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a newly created Residential Supervising Appraiser position. Candidates should be seasoned professionals with significant appraisal, ad valorem, and supervisory experience. The Supervising Appraiser will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a residential division. Candidates must have the ability to measure and calculate building and site areas, collect and process data relative to the sales verification process, be able to complete and defend residential and commercial assessment models, process income and expense data to determine value, be able to complete and understand ratio studies, will serve as expert witness relative to divisional assignments be able to multi-task as well as supervise and train all Assessor's Office personnel, and have the ability to complete any valuation assignment. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of an Assessor's Office is required. The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of applicable state, local and federal laws, regulations, codes and ordinances pertaining to the assessment function. Candidates must have the ability to manage a high volume work load, multi-task, deal effectively with internal and external customers, negotiate sensitive issues, and analyze conflicts. Candidates must have working knowledge of MS Office software and CAMA systems. Candidates will possess a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, plus four years of progressive assessment and appraisal experience or a combination equivalent to eight years of experience and education. Three years of supervisory experience along with a CAE or MAI designation are preferred. Must possess valid driver's license Criminal background, credit record and driver's license checks will be conducted on the successful candidate.
