Managing day-to-day operations of a large multi-use park in Sterling, VA. Oversee development and implementation of programs and activities for the natural areas with 11-miles of trails, an historic area and associated buildings, a sportsplex including 9 ballfields and year-round special events. Work closely with management of co-located Agricultural Museum and Recreation Center to ensure communication and collaboration among programs. Ensure quality of services, adherence to management plan and budgets, follow safety and security guidelines, and provide an aesthetically pleasing environment for a diverse customer base. Provide leadership and training to staff and volunteers, and establish a strong professional relationship with management, county departments, industry peers, and advisory board. Meet revenue projections through programs, special events and rentals, and manage resource allocations within county guidelines. Implement effective service practices and monitor customer service process. Manage public relations and marketing efforts to increase awareness of activities and programs at the park. Requires education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Park Management or related field with three years of management experience in park or recreation field which must include previous supervisory experience. Prefer experience with development and operation of interpretive programs. CPR and First Aid certification required. (CPRP) Certified Park and Recreation Professional certification preferred. Ability to work long hours and respond to after-hours emergency and weather situations. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
