On August 4, 1991, a ruling by Circuit Court Judge Thomas D. Home settled the squabble as the school board was evicted from the Wakefield property in Huntly, VA.
The restored school settled on the name “Wakefield Country Day School.” The board retained the name “Wakefield,” fast tracking their move to a temporary location at the Marshall Manor assisted living center.
Later, t each side went through a difficult process of dividing up the school property. The judge had ruled that any school item prior to 1978 belonged to the Lynn’s while newer equipment would be given to the school board if they could provide proof of purchase. “I still remember when they steamed over with U-hauls, trailers, and dump trucks,” Tucker said. “It was a sad day for a lot of people.” Picking up the pieces
