Alice Faulkner had a long and distinguished record as a volunteer in Washington, D.C. and in Virginia. She was the President of the Georgetown Children’s House and Chairman of the National Day Care Association. She served on the Women’s Committee of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and on the Board of the Washington YWCA. She was also on the Board of the Women’s Medical Hospital in Philadelphia. She was a Vice - President of the Sulgrave Club of Washington and on the Women’s Committee of the Smithsonian Institution, finishing as the Chairman of that Committee. Mrs. Faulkner served for several years as a Trustee of the Madeira School and was subsequently elected the Chairman of the Board.
In 1990, the Faulkners moved to Delaplane, Virginia where Alice Faulkner’s focus turned to environmental issues. She was elected cochairman of the The Goose Creek Association of Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. In 2005, the Faulkners moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.
