Singer/songwriter Tyrone Wells

to perform at LFCC

Singer/songwriter Tyrone Wells is scheduled to perform over 90 concerts from August 2006 to March 2007, primarily at college campuses across the country.

To kick off his East Coast concert tour, Wells is performing live at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.

Sponsored by the LFCC Student Activities Office, the concerts are free and open to the public.

The concert schedule runs as follows

Tuesday, Aug. 22 and Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 11:45 a.m. in the William H. McCoy Special Events Center located inside the Alson H. Smith Jr. Technology Center on the Middletown Campus, located at 173 Skirmisher Lane in Middletown

Thursday, Aug. 24 at 12:30 p.m. in the Loeb Center on the Fauquier Campus, located at 6480 College Street in Warrenton

Wells just released his third independent album, Hold On, with a sold-out release party at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

The new album is a blend of his singer/songwriter roots, soul and rock. His classic and powerful voice has helped him sell over 25,000 of his self-distributed records at live performances throughout the West Coast in venues such as the House of Blues, Galaxy Theatre and the El Rey Theatre.

His performance on the main stage at the 2006 National Association of Campus Activities convention generated 152 offers from colleges across the country, a record number for the convention.

In 2004, Wells was named the Orange County Music Awards Best Male Artist, as well as the 2004 University of California, Los Angeles Spring Sing Best Overall and Best Solo Artist.

Also in 2004, Tyrone had 15 television placements in shows including “One Tree Hill,” “Numb3rs,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Summerland,” “Rescue Me,” “North Shore,” “The Mountain” and “The Bedford Diaries.”
