Tax Information Specialist
Frontline taxpayer service position with Commissioner of the Revenue. Respond to general personal property tax, business tax, tax relief and state income tax inquiries in person and over the phone. Administer programs fairly, equitably and uniformly by applying local, state, case law and rulings and educates citizens to enable them to properly file tax declarations. Ensures accurate assessments by maintaining tax accounts and performs preliminary assessments for property and license taxes. Adjust tax accounts to reflect changes. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be required to meet mandated deadlines. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and two years of directly related experience in customer service, preferably in taxation or finance. Prefer candidates bilingual in English and Spanish. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Credit and Criminal background check.
