Friends of Kenneth Nelson Leonard gathered at the Blue Rock Inn for a memorial dinner and fund raiser on the evening of November 14.
The dinner was held to pay tribute to their friend and raise money for his daughter, Carolina.
“If I had the opportunity to ask Ken what he would have liked us to do, he would have said, Take care of my daughter,m said Blue Rock owner Jim McCullough.
Leonard was a employee at the Inn at Little Washington and passed away suddenly at the age of 44.
Many of Leonard’s friends from the Inn joined friends from the Blue Rock, donating their culinary skills for the benefit dinner.
All of the proceeds went into a trust fund for Leonard’s daughter. McCullough said that they raised an estimated $8,000 for the trust fund.
Reggae band, “Street Legal” donated their time entertaining the guests for free, following the dinner.
Anyone who would still like to donate to the memorial trust fund should send donations to the Rappahannock Bank, in care of the Carolina Leonard Fund.
