Shop with a Deputy Christmas Program
The Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office will be sponsoring our eleventh annual "Shop with a Deputy” program this Christmas season for some of the county’s most needy citizens. The date for this year’s program will be December 16th, 2006. With the holiday season upon us, it is our goal to make Christmas a very special time for children who would miss out on some holiday fun due to circumstances beyond the families financial control.
Your Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office, in conjunction with other county representatives, will select children whose families have little or no funds for the Christmas Holidays. Once the participating children are selected, the parents are contacted for their approval and permission for their child to attend. The children will meet at the Sheriffs Office where they will be paired up with a uniformed officer who will assist the children with their purchases. The children will then be driven to K-Mart in Front Royal, where they can purchase a $100 worth of merchandise for themselves or their families. Necessary winter clothing, always comes firstl
Once the shopping is completed, the children will have an opportunity to eat breakfast with the officers and visit with Santa Claus. While the children eat breakfast volunteers wrap the presents that the children have selected. After breakfast and some fun entertainment, the children will receive th^ir wrapped presents and a food basket for each family.
This program has been an incredible success the last ten years, and we hope to make it even better this year. We are asking you, the private citizens and business owners, to help us by sponsoring a child. You can do so by sending a tax-deductible contribution to “Shop with a Deputy”. All contributions will go toward the enrichment of our Rappahannock County children’s lives.
The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office is very exoited about this project; we hope to involve at least 80 children this year. With your help and support we know this program will continue to ban an annual event that is a huge success.
Thank you for your support of the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office and our youth programs.
