Although New York can be an expensive place to visit, many of its multitude of Christmas pleasures cost little or nothing. Ride the Fifth Avenue bus down to 34th Street and walk a couple of blocks west, where you will find Macy's department store in all its glory. Their Christmas windows draw big crowds.
