On March 19, 2004 the Judge of the Rappahannock County Circuit Court appointed a new Committee of Trustees for the Sperryville Cemetery. In the time between the previous committee and the new committee, a Sperryville Cemetery Ad Hoc Maintenance Committee had been formed to take care of some much needed improvements to the cemetery: paving the road, pruning the trees and shrubbery, removing trash, etc. AD this was done and continues to be done on a voluntary basis.
The present Committee of Trustees meets quarterly to discuss the maintenance and care of the cemetery. It has become increasingly apparent to us that the rules and regulations of the cemetery are being ignored. We would like to call your attention to the three easily visible signs posted within the cemetery which read, “The planting of shrubbery is not allowed at any place within the cemetery.” Violations of this rule have become more and
