Mental Health/Retardation

Full-time clinician position with Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Clinician will provide mental health evaluation and treatment services to adults incarcerated in the Adult Detention Center. Clinician will work in the Adult Detention Center as part of a multi-disciplinary team to include correctional staff, medical staff and other treatment staff in a correctional environment. Maintains all clinical records and documentation according to federal, state and agency policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in both substance abuse and mental health issues; demonstrate strong clinical skills in providing individual, group and family therapy; possess strong organizational skills; and demonstrate the ability to function as a member of a clinical team. Work schedule will include Monday through Friday with evening hours 2 nights per week. Requires a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling and/or marriage and family therapy and three years of job related experience. Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling and/or family therapy as well as three years post-masters clinical experience preferred. Licensed/licensed eligible clinician preferred. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background and driving record check as well as TB Test. Applicant must have valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
