Tax Information Associate
Commissioner of Revenue
A front-line taxpayer service position available in the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue. Will respond to general personal property tax, business tax, tax relief and state income tax inquiries in person and over the phone. Requires the ability to administer programs fairly, equitably and uniformly by applying local, state, case law and rulings. Educates citizens to enable them to properly file tax declarations with the Commissioner of the Revenue. Anticipates and addresses need for referral to other agencies. Ensures accurate assessments by maintaining tax accounts and performs preliminary assessments for property and license taxes. Adjusts existing tax accounts to reflect changes. Processes DMV select service transactions upon activation of new program. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be required to meet mandated deadlines. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and two years of directly related experience in customer service, preferably in taxation or finance. Prefer candidates bilingual in English and Spanish. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Credit and Criminal background check.
