declared the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day, however each state did not abide by that date, so in 1941 President Franklin Roosevelt declared the day a national holiday. In different countries around the world festivals are celebrated but here in America we revolve around giving thanks to our Lord for all the blessings he bestows upon us. May each and everyone out there, have a blessed Thanksgiving Day.
Our great sympathy is extended to the husband and family members of Mrs. Virginia Coates Apperson, who at 87, passed on Monday at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center, after a long illness. She was bom and raised here in Boston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coates, moving to Culpeper many years ago upon her marriage to Robert “Bob” Apperson.
Tbm and Lila Wolfe are the proud grandparents and continue to beam with joy at the arrival of a little granddaughter, Natalie Helena Wolfe, bom to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wolfe of Alexandria on Sept. 20th.
Ms. Ruth Richards, having sold her house in Sperryville, has taken temporary residence here on Route 707.
