Tax Information Associate

Commissioner of Revenue

Ensures accurate assessments and integrity of tax data by maintaining tax accounts and performing quality control activities. Assists with implementing, monitoring and maintaining office automation initiatives, system requirements, and system operational schedules for tax assessment, document imaging and electronic filing applications. Maintains written policies and procedures. Coordinates testing efforts for new technology and system changes. Assists with development and maintenance of forms utilizing OCR, barcode and other similar technology. Responds to reporting requests requiring data to be extracted from the office's systems. Works with office management to ensure efficient exchange of data between agencies. Assists with the imaging of tax documents. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and two years of directly related experience in information technology, business management, financial accounting or related field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Access. Occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be required to meet mandated deadlines. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of credit check, criminal background check, driving record check and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
